Introduction

The Small Business Edition of the UAAR DataLog provides a solution for users who need to share sales between users. A network drive will be used to store shared sales instead of a SQL Server. This will provide basic functionality to share sales with a group of appraisers.

Features

* Specific to Small Business Edition only

Quickly Organize Sales

The current system of organizing sales using multiple Microsoft Access databases forces users to deal with complex data management. It is confusing to keep track of where sales are located and there is no way to search or report across all of your sales.

The new UAAR DataLog provides one central view for all your sales. The software provides folders so sales can be separated into categories and sub-categories that meet your specific needs. Sales can be moved between folders with simple drag/drop or copy/paste. With a few clicks a working folder can be created and filled with sales that apply to a specific project.

Easily Share Sales

To share a sale in the existing DataLog individual sales must be transferred to a new DataLog. That DataLog must then be attached to an e-mail. Because of increased security around e-mail attachments, it is possible that the e-mail will never make it to its destination.

The new DataLog stores data in industry standard and e-mail friendly XML files. You can attach sales to an e-mail as an attachment by simply dragging them directly from the DataLog Sales Grid to your e-mail message. The files are immediately attached and ready to send. The UAAR user that receives the sale simply reverses the process. Drag the attachments from the e-mail message to the DataLog and the sales are ready for use.

But what if you need to share sales with someone that is not a UAAR user? Currently the only practical way is to print out a hard copy of the sale and fax it.

The new DataLog uses an integrated web page view of the sale. The entire sale or a portion of it can be copied and pasted into any e-mail editor or word processing program. Are you willing to share the sale facts, but not your analysis? No problem, just copy the top portion of the sale sheet and paste it into an e-mail. Are you currently working on a report that can't be done in the UAAR format? Copy your sales out and paste them into a word processor for complete narrative control.

The DataLog views are created using industry standard XSLT files. This provides integration points for IT Departments to create new sales views that are formatted differently from the current sales sheets. Hyperlinks could also be created from the view to tie sales data to other internal or external systems.

Better Access to Sales Data

Sales data is meant to be analyzed. New reports give you more access to work with and view data. Instead of trying to guess what criteria is needed for each report, a common search screen is used to start all reports. In addition, custom filters can be applied to any field in the results to further limit the data used for the report.

The same range of value reports can be generated with added access to the data used to create the report. For example, when analyzing land values you can view or exclude individual sales used in the report. You can also see the raw land data that was used to generate the summary values. New graphs help you find the true range and identify outliers at a glance.

Anywhere a grid is used to display data you have the option to print or export the data to Microsoft Excel. We know that many times custom work is accomplished with Microsoft Excel. Our goal is to get the data into the tools that you use.

The image below is the main screen of the DataLog.  The main screen is divided into four sections:

  1. The top left is the chart of sales folders
  2. The top right is the sales grid of the selected sales folder
  3. The bottom left is a list of tools
  4. The bottom right is the display area for the selected sale.

The image below is the 'Search for Sales' screen.  The user has many options to use for searching through the sales.  You can select either or all of the first three options – Date range, Price range, and Acre range. You can search by sales that were Resales, Improved Only, Unimproved Only, or All Sales. Then you can limit your search even more by selecting what you want to search by. You have several options to choose from, along with the ability to specify which value you want it to search for within that option.
