Number pages for multiple containers

How do I set the page numbers for multiple containers?

UAAR has the ability to change default page numbering, if desired.  The reason you would do this is if you are completing a Before & After appraisal and need two or more containers for one appraisal report.  You need to have a container for each tract because having more than one approach page in a container will cause the forms to calculate incorrectly.

Create First Container

We will start with the original or first container of the report.  Enter in exhibit forms for all of the pages that you want in the report.  See the image below for an example.

The "Introduction" section includes all forms that are actually filled out.  These are the forms that apply to all of the tracts and will not be disturbed by other forms.  These forms include the summary, scope of work, definition of value, and assumptions and limiting conditions, just to name a few.

The purpose of adding all of the blank forms is to have all of the pages numbered consecutively.

You can edit the forms in the container so that the appropriate forms show page numbers.  You can do this by right clicking on the yellow title bar and selecting "Page Properties".  Then you can check the box next to the appropriate items.

Once you have added and edited all of the forms, you now know the total number of pages in the report and you have a complete Table of Contents.

(Hint: You may have to add an additional page for the Table of Contents in order to display all of your pages.  See the Forms Library under UAAR Forms Library > UAAR-Report > Cover Forms > UAAR Table of Contents (Extra).)

Create Remaining Containers

Now you need to create all of the other containers you need (one for each tract, parcel, etc.).  This container is where you put the actual forms for each tract (as compared to the first container where you just inserted blank exhibit pages).

Once you have added all of the forms and edited the page properties, you need to edit the page numbering.

Edit the Page Numbers

To edit the page numbers, go to the menu Edit > Preferences > Document > Operation tab.  At the bottom right of the tab, there is a check box with "Automatic Page Numbering" after it.  Uncheck this box.  Now you can edit the starting page number and the ending (total) page number.

In this example, Tract I starts on page 16 and the total number of pages in the report is 61 - so you would enter 16 for the "Start Page No" box and 61 for the "of Total" box and then click on "OK".

Your page numbering should now be correct.  The first page in this container should state:

Repeat this process for all of the containers in your report.
