4. How Do I Calculate Depreciation in the
DataLog?
Calculating depreciation is a little different now than it was in the
2005 version. Originally, you entered the Age and Remaining Life values and
the Physical Depreciation value automatically calculated. In the 2006
version, you must enter the Total Life value and the % Physical
(Depreciation) value and the Effective Age and Remaining Life will adjust
accordingly. You can see that the Effective Age and Remaining Life cells are
locked because they are automatically filled.
A QUICK HINT: If you want the Functional and External Depreciation
percentages to automatically adjust the Effective Age and Remaining Life, go
to the menu Edit > Configuration > Math Settings and check all three boxes
and then click on “OK”.
