Text Editing Changes

Formatted Text

This release allows you to format individual words in comment blocks. This change applies solely to multi-line comment blocks. You can make text bold, italic, and underlined. Bold and italic are found on the toolbar, whereas underline is found under the menu item Cells->Styles->Underline; you can also use the key combination CTRL-U to underline the selected text.

This feature has a few limitations.

When copying and pasting, the text formatting will be lost and plain text will be copied.
Text must be typed initially, and then the formatting can be changed. For example, it is not possible to press the bold button and then start typing bold text.
The font style is the only item that can be changed. The font face and size cannot be changed for individual sections of text.
Saved comments can be saved with formatting. However, if the saved comment is edited in the "Edit Comments" window, all formatting information will be lost.

NOTE: Any file saved with version 5.3 cannot be opened in previous versions of the UAAR Software.

PDF Import

Several bugs affecting the PDF import have been fixed. These include:

Importing multiple pages together caused blank pages to be added to the report
Importing a PDF created by a scanner caused the report file size to grow extremely large
After importing a PDF file the company name was changed to "Sale Contract"

Some problems affecting images contained in PDF files were not fixed in this release. We are still working to ensure that all images in PDF files can be imported.

Print Sections In Light Gray

The UAAR program has an option to "Print Form Section Titles in Light Gray". In prior versions of the software this option affected only certain section titles. Many forms still printed with blue bars on the page. This has been corrected. When the option is selected, the only items that will print in color are photos and exhibits.

This option can be useful for reducing the number of full color pages printed in a report while allowing photos and maps to be printed in color.

This option can be found under the menu item "Edit->Preferences"; then click on the "Printing" option under the Document section on the left hand side of the screen.

Drag and Drop to Rearrange Forms

You can now click on a form in the Forms Manager and drag it to a new position instead of using the yellow up/down arrows.

Moving Forms

Shorten UAAR Header

In some cases, the UAAR software and forms are being used on property types that are not traditional agricultural properties. Having the full header on every page is not desirable for all property types so it has been shortened from "Uniform Agricultural Appraisal Report UAAR" to "UAAR".

NOTE: This will affect all appraisals opened in the new version. This includes appraisals that were created on earlier versions of the UAAR software.
